The Rise of Sheldon Lavin in The Food Industry

Sheldon Lavin is one of the famous characters in the meat and food processing industry. He currently holds as the chairman and chief executive officer of OSI Group, LLC. 

He began his hard work in the industry since 1970 when the company’s name was still Otto and Sons which is currently the OSI group.

During his incumbency as the CEO of the company, Sheldon Lavin with the help of the OSI group have committed to producing sustainable food.  Also, being the innovator in the food industry, it is not a big deal for the company. 

More so, since the 1970s, there has been a rapid increase in the food sector which has led to the OSI group being the most abundant food producers in the world.

Since he has all the support required and his career being at twilight now, he has guided the OSI group in developing new strategies and techniques.  

Sheldon Lavin believes it will increase the company’s efficiency and also decrease environmental footprints of operations in the company. 

 Such great ideas have led to his achievements of winning more important awards including the North American Meat institutes Environmental Award, the Global Visionary Award, the California  Green business award, and the British safety council’s globe of honor which is a breakthrough in his career.

Moreover, Sheldon Lavin has excellent support from his counterpart McDonald who was of great help in the expansion of the OSI group in China. McDonald background shaped him from a Lowa boy farm to currently a president and COO of the most successful companies in the US.

 It was through Lavin’s help of offering him an internship in the OSI group that is how he was involved with the OSI Company.  He joined the OSI Company 30 years ago and since he is an expert in the food operations logistics.

The OSI background root’s the same with that of McDonalds’ form the American Midwest. In the 1970s and 80s, Otto and sons developed and transformed into OSI industries in 1975. 

Under the leadership of Sheldon Lavin, the company advanced from a one- dimensional supplier to a sprawling international today. It was the period when Lavin achieved the industry policy by going global and local in the food industry.
