See: How Canada's Most Versatile Hip-hop Artist Harm Franklin made his Breakthrough in American Music Industry

Harm Franklin, aka Harmenvir Khars, is one of the most versatile artists in Canada. His break into the American Music Industry by storm after the successful release of the single "Stunnin''' alongside Curtis Waters was released in May 2020. The single became a major hit that blew up on TikTok, gaining over 200M  streams on Spotify alone.

Born in Toronto, Franklin was raised in Calgary but moved to pursue music full-time in Toronto. Since his entrance into the music industry in 2016, his work seems to be paying off. He is gaining strength and strength after each song.

If you are not familiar with Harm Franklin, you must surely recognize his contribution to the hit song single "Stunnin''' alongside Waters. Franklin opens up about his hot song and music career during an interview with BuzzMusic. If it's describing Franklin's sound, "Think Drake mixed with Lil Uzi Vert, a melodic trap sound mixed with a sweet melody of drums," he stated.

Harm's personality that shines through his music makes him stand out as a Trap/R&B artist. He brings out his unique life experience and shapes it into stories that fans can bop their heads to.

His beats collection, combined with versatility, brings out something unique and not bound to one genre. His songs go anywhere from life and heartbreak to ambitious goals and the harsh realities of what he has gone through in his upbringing.

The success of Stunnin' alongside Curtis Waters has contributed greatly to the flourishing of his career. He says," I feel like with my song blowing up, it really wasn't hard for me to be inspired. A lot of dreams came true this year, so that just fueled me to go even harder and push in cus now I don't doubt myself or the quality anymore because I know what I have, and I know Stunnin' wasn't even close to the best song I' ve ever made. I guess the advice I can say is; that your work ethic is what separate you from your peers."

Since the onset of his music career, Harm Franklin accepts that the rate of accepting brown voices in the music industry has been slow and steady. He says," I remember like five or six years ago, label/industry people would tell me it's gonna be really hard for me to be successful in the hip-hop space 'cause America hates brown people due to all the terrorism stuff in the media. But because of people like [Indo-Canadian hip hop artist] Nar, it's a lot easier for us to be accepted because they have seen it already now."

After Stunnin' success, Harm became more motivated and gathered strength by strength. He released his single "Bad Guy," which describes more of a toxic relationship. He was inspired by one of his favorite films, 1983's Scarface. He recounts that it marked the beginning of the end for the protagonist. " A cautionary moment that when you start thinking you [are] invincible, that is when you crash and burn. "

Recently, he released a sultry and sensual single, "Teacher" feat. Ye Ali. The song captures a natural sense of lust that exudes through every sonic element. It begins with an organ-like synth in the background and other synths in the foreground alongside R&B drum brakes. Ideally, "Teacher" feat. Ye Ali has brought out some depth and passion. His inspiration for creating "Teacher" is traced back to his life experience.

"Blue Mountain Dew was actually inspired by a breakup. I was really going through the pain of losing someone I really cherished and felt intensely for. She got back with her ex, like right away, and I was just depressed, sipping so much lean and doing Xanax, and it was just a really dark time in my life. A lot of great music came from it, though, and I'm in a way better place now and can look back at that difficult time and learn from it. It shows people how to turn their pain into power and that we all cope with things differently."
